Keep Howe Beautiful
Keep Howe Beautiful
The Keep Howe Beautiful mission is to educate and engage citizens of Howe to take responsibility for improving their community environment. The mission of the Keep Howe Beautiful affiliate program is to establish a standard for annual approval and recognition of the community of Howe whose ongoing litter prevention and community beautification efforts are representative of the stated general mission of Keep Texas Beautiful.
Keep Howe Beautiful is seeking volunteers to help pick up trash in Howe. Families, individuals or small group of friends can participate. KHB will assign areas and a simple map. Let them know what area you will do and when it will be completed by. Give KHB a report by text or email when complete with members in your group, the number of bags and picture of bags that were filled. Contact Donna Wormsbaker at djwormsbaker@outlook.com or at 903-819-3436.
The organization consists of a volunteer board that meets on the second Monday of each month at the Howe Development Alliance/Howe Chamber of Commerce, 100 E. O’Connell St., at 6 pm.
Howe became nationally known in 1940 when Mame Roberts became a national figure in beautification programs. As a result of Ms. Roberts’ determination and hard work, her hometown of Howe was named “Prettiest Little Town in Texas” by Reader’s Digest and Life Magazine.
